Dr. Matthew Kolar, DDS attended dental school at The University of Texas Health Sciences Center San Antonio Dental School (UTHSCSA Dental School for short). After graduation Dr. Kolar and his family continued to live in San Antonio while he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency program. This intense program furthered Dr. Kolar's knowledge and surgical skills. During residency, he became certified in Oral and I.V. Sedation. His residency focused primary on Surgery and complex dental treatment plans. Dr. Kolar developed skills in bone grafting, soft tissue management and complete Dental Implant Treatment from single tooth replacement to full-arch reconstruction with on "All On 4 / 6" style implant cases. He also regularly performed surgical extraction of fully impacted wisdom teeth, and he continues performing these types of care today. During his residency he also completed the Preceptorship in Dental Implantology. This course, which is held annually, provided an additional 80+ hours of surgical and restorative implant planning and treatment education.
